Jacinto. There is little doubt but that they both separated from Ward on the Guadalupe on the night of March 21st, and were not captured with his command next day. On some versions of the T&TR roll his name is duplicated as "Charles Hec." The original T&TR roll, listed him as "Escaped on Ward's retreat."

Wilson Helms' pay was collected by Thos. G. Gordon, administrator, Jan. 5, 1841, on the usual War Department certificate that his name appears as a private on Captain Winn's muster roll on file, and that he was entitled to pay as such from Oct. 23, 1835 to March 27, 1836. [CMSR No. 232, State Library.] LOMR for Winn's Company and original and all subsequent versions of T&TR roll indicate that he perished in the general massacre at Goliad March 27, 1836.
