KICKAPOO SPRING. Kickapoo Spring is a small spring at the head of a branch of Kickapoo Creek near Mathews Ranch south of the South Rust oilfield in extreme southeastern Tom Green County (at 31°09' N, 100°08' W). The surrounding flat terrain with local shallow depressions is surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
