MCKENZIE LAKE. McKenzie Lake is just north of U.S. Highway 180 near McKenzie Draw in east central Gaines County (at 32°43' N, 102°19' W). The intermittent lake is a shallow depression, one mile long and under a mile wide, at an elevation of 3,039 feet. The surrounding flat to rolling terrain is made up of sand and covered by scattered oak mottes and bunch grasses.
