LAGUNA SALADA. Laguna Salada is a small natural lake two miles southeast of Falfurrias and two miles east of U.S. Highway 281 in northeastern Brooks County (at 27°09' N, 98°05' W). Its name means "Salty Lake." Laguna Salada is fed by Palo Blanco and Baluarte creeks and drains to the east into Palo Blanco Creek. The local terrain varies from rolling to flat and gently sloping and is surfaced by clay and sandy loams and sand that support scrub brush and grasses.
