BIG LAKE (Reagan County). Big Lake is on Farm Road 137 a mile southwest of the community of Big Lake in south central Reagan County (at 31°10' N, 101°29' W). It is fed by Big Lake Draw and lies in a floodplain. It covers an estimated 1,000 acres. The shores of Big Lake are composed of sand, silt, gravel, and mud, with limestone and dolomite substrata. Scrub brush, grasses, and water-tolerant hardwoods grow around the lake.
