SAN LUIS PASS
SAN LUIS PASS. San Luis Pass, the water connection between the Gulf of Mexico and West Bay, lies between Galveston Island and Follet's Island (at 29°05' N, 95°07' W). The pass is less than two miles long and between ten and forty feet deep. As late as 1936 it separated Galveston Island and San Luis Island, but shifting sands have connected San Luis Island and Follet's Island. The county line between Brazoria and Galveston counties runs through San Luis Pass.
