SLICKROCK MOUNTAIN. Slickrock Mountain is eight miles northeast of the Maverick Ranger Station in the Big Bend National Park in southwestern Brewster County (at 29°22' N, 103°23' W). At an elevation of 3,985 feet above sea level, it rises 1,230 feet above the ranger station. Shallow, stony soils support scrub brush and grasses.
