MALONE MOUNTAINS. The Malone Mountains begin ten miles west of Sierra Blanca and end six miles to the northwest in southwestern Hudspeth County (their center point is 31°14' N, 105°33' W). The highest elevation in the Malones is 5,062 feet above sea level. Their shallow, stony soils and sandy and clay loams support live oak, piñon, juniper, scrub brush, cacti, and grasses.
