LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN (San Saba County). Lookout Mountain, a summit eleven miles northwest of Richland Springs in northwestern San Saba County (at 31°18' N, 99°04' W), has an elevation of approximately 1,650 feet above sea level. The peak rises 150 feet above the headwaters of Richland Creek to the southeast. The surrounding steep slopes are surfaced by clayey and sandy loam that supports mesquite, oak, ashe juniper, and grasses.
