GOAT MOUNTAIN [#1] (BREWSTER COUNTY)
GOAT MOUNTAIN [#1] (Brewster County). Goat Mountain is in the Chisos Mountains fifteen miles southwest of Panther Junction within Big Bend National Park in southern Brewster County (at 29°11' N, 103°24' W). Its summit, at an elevation of 4,625 feet above sea level, rises 1,625 feet above the Castolon road, just west of the mountain. Soils on Goat Mountain are shallow and stony, and local vegetation includes live oak, piñon pine, juniper, and grasses.
