WILDHORSE CREEK (MITCHELL COUNTY)
WILDHORSE CREEK (Mitchell County). Wildhorse Creek rises just north of Interstate Highway 20 and six miles west of Westbrook in west central Mitchell County (at 32°18' N, 101°07' W) and runs twenty miles southeast to its mouth on the Colorado River, twelve miles south of Colorado City (at 32°12' N, 100°53' W). It crosses flat, flood-prone terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
