WOLFPEN CREEK (HOPKINS COUNTY)
WOLFPEN CREEK (Hopkins County). Wolfpen Creek rises a mile west of Nelta in northeastern Hopkins County (at 33°18' N, 95°29' W). The creek, which is intermittent in its upper reaches, runs southeast for nine miles to its mouth on White Oak Bayou, four miles north of Saltillo (at 33°15' N, 95°20' W). The surrounding flat terrain has local shallow depressions and is surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
