WALNUT RUN (ORANGE COUNTY)
WALNUT RUN (Orange County). Walnut Run rises two miles northeast of Lakeview in northwestern Orange County (at 30°14' N, 94°05' W) and runs south for four miles to an area where its sluggish waters form Maple Slough (at 30°11' N, 94°04' W). Walnut Run crosses flat terrain with local shallow depressions and soil composed of clay and sandy loams. Vegetation is composed primarily of pine and hardwood forest consisting of loblolly pine and sweet gum.
