SANDY CREEK (RAINS COUNTY)
SANDY CREEK (Rains County). Sandy Creek rises just north of downtown Emory in central Rains County (at 32°53' N, 95°46' W) and flows south for eight miles to its mouth on the Sabine River, two miles west of State Highway 19 (at 32°46' N, 95°46' W). The creek traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by sandy and clay loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
