ROCK CREEK (STONEWALL COUNTY)

ROCK CREEK (Stonewall County). Rock Creek (Rockhouse Creek) rises eight miles northeast of Aspermont in east central Stonewall County (at 33°09' N, 100°13' W). The small stream, usually containing flowing water, travels north for five miles to its mouth on the Salt Fork of the Brazos River (at 33°13' N, 100°08' W). The surrounding flat to rolling terrain and steep slopes are surfaced by shallow clay and sandy loams that support scrub brush, grasses, juniper, and cacti. The creek's headwaters largely consist of several active springs known as Rock Springs.
