PANTHER CREEK (COLEMAN COUNTY)
PANTHER CREEK (Coleman County). Panther Creek rises two miles south of Valera and just east of Farm Road 503 in west central Coleman County (at 31°43' N, 99°34' W) and runs twenty-two miles south to its mouth on the Colorado River, two miles east of Farm Road 503 (at 31°29' N, 99°32' W). The area is flat, flood-prone, and surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
