PEVELER CREEK (Young County). Peveler Creek rises (at 33°14' N, 98°45' W) in central Young County two miles northwest of Newcastle and runs south for four miles to its mouth (at 33°11' N, 98°45' W) on Rattlesnake Creek, on the west side of Newcastle. The upper creek runs through the Lairmore oilfield. The local terrain of rolling prairie is surfaced by clay loams that support mesquite, grasses, mixed hardwoods, and pines.
