POST OAK CREEK (Travis County). Post Oak Creek rises in northwestern Travis County (at 30°35' N, 98°01' W) four miles west of the Round Mountain community and runs south for 5½ miles to its mouth (at 30°30' N, 98°01' W) on Lake Travis, three miles northwest of Lago Vista. The terrain is flat to rolling with local steep slopes and benches; the soils of shallow clay and sandy loams support juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
