POLECAT CREEK (Montague County). Polecat Creek rises in west central Montague County (at 33°38' N, 97°49' W) some 4½ miles north of Bowie and runs north for four miles to its mouth (at 33°41' N, 97°51' W) on Victoria Creek, a mile north of the community of Red Mound. It traverses flat to rolling terrain, surfaced by deep, fine, sandy loams that support hardwood trees, brush, and various grasses. The area has served as crop and range land.
