PECAN CREEK (SAN SABA AND LLANO COUNTIES)
PECAN CREEK (San Saba and Llano counties). Pecan Creek in San Saba-Llano counties rises along the border of the counties 4½ miles southwest of Cherokee (at 30°55' N, 98°48' W). Fed by numerous tributaries, the stream follows a southeasterly course for eight miles to its mouth on the Llano River, immediately west of Llano (at 30°45' N, 98°42' W). It traverses an area of the Llano Basin characterized by flat to rolling terrain, locally dissected and covered by soils ranging from sandy to clay loams. Vegetation consists primarily of open stands of live oak and mesquite.
