PAPALOTE CREEK. Papalote Creek rises a mile west of Waldheim Cemetery in extreme southwestern Bee County (at 28°12' N, 97°48' W) and runs southeast for fifteen miles through southern Bee and northern San Patricio counties to its mouth on the Aransas River, four miles east of Papalote (at 28°10' N, 97°32' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. It traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
