OLMOS CREEK (ATASCOSA COUNTY)
OLMOS CREEK (Atascosa County). Olmos Creek rises four miles west of Fashing in southeastern Atascosa County (at 28°46' N, 98°13' W) and runs southwest for twelve miles to its mouth on the Atascosa River, just east of Whitsett (at 28°37' N, 98°16' W). The stream rises in flat to rolling terrain with local escarpments, surfaced by deep, fine, sandy loams; it descends to flat terrain with locally shallow depressions, surfaced by clayey and sandy loams. Brush and grasses grow along the upper reaches of the stream, and water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses along its lower.
