NORTH PRONG OF HORDS CREEK. The North Prong of Hords Creek rises sixteen miles northwest of Coleman in western Coleman County (at 31°56' N, 99°39' W) and runs five miles southeast to its mouth on Hords Creek (at 31°52' N, 99°38' W), just east of Glen Cove and the intersection of Farm roads 2805 and 53. It traverses flat, flood-prone terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
