MITCHELL BRANCH (Frio County). Mitchell Branch rises three miles north of the LaSalle county line and six miles west of Dilley in southwestern Frio County (at 28°42' N, 99°18' W) and runs nine miles southeast to its mouth on Cibolo Creek, two miles northwest of Millet in northwestern LaSalle County (at 28°36' N, 99°14' W). The surrounding flat terrain with local shallow depressions is surfaced by clay and sand that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and various grasses.
