MOUNTAIN CREEK (HALL COUNTY)
MOUNTAIN CREEK (Hall County). Mountain Creek rises in eastern Hall County (at 34°28' N, 100°37' W) ten miles southwest of Estelline and runs northeast for eleven miles to its mouth (at 34°33' N, 100°24' W) on the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River, just over the Childress county line at the northeastern edge of the Mill Iron rangelands (see CONTINENTAL LAND AND CATTLE COMPANY). The creek crosses an area characterized by moderately sloping terrain, with muddy and sandy soils that support mesquite and grasses.
