MASON CREEK (Harris County). Mason Creek rises near Mason Road east of Katy in northwest Harris County (at 95°46' N, 29°47' W) and runs southeast for 6½ miles to its mouth on Buffalo Bayou (at 95°40' N, 29°45' W). The streambed runs through flat to rolling terrain with local escarpments and dissections. The soil ranges from shallow to deep sandy and clay loams. Vegetation consists primarily of cultivated row or cover crops with occasional grasslands typically associated with crop rotation.
