LITTLE SANDY CREEK (Bastrop County). Little Sandy Creek rises just north of Pleasant Grove Cemetery in northern Bastrop County (at 30°24' N, 97°21' W) and flows southeast for thirteen miles to its mouth on Burleson Creek (at 30°20' N, 97°18' W). The surrounding area has flat to rolling terrain, surfaced by sandy clay loams that support post oak woods. Springs on the creek five miles east of Elgin, variously known as Carr Springs and Elgin Springs, provided Elgin's water supply in the 1930s.
