LYTTON CREEK. Lytton Creek rises just west of the Lytton Springs community in northern Caldwell County (at 30°00' N, 97°37' W) and runs southeast for ten miles to its mouth on Walnut Creek, four miles west of Red Rock in Bastrop County (at 29°58' N, 97°30' W). The stream traverses rolling prairie, surfaced by shallow clay loams that support mesquite, mixed hardwoods, and grasses.
