HASTING CREEK. Hasting Creek rises three miles east of Vincent in extreme eastern Howard County (at 32°29' N, 101°11' W) and runs twelve miles southeast to its mouth on Morgan Creek, four miles north of the intersection of Farm Road 670 and Interstate Highway 20 in western Mitchell County (at 32°23' N, 101°02' W). It traverses flat, flood-prone terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
