HURRICANE CREEK (Cass County). Hurricane Creek rises a half mile south of Queen City in northeastern Cass County (at 33°09' N, 94°09' W) and runs south for six miles to its mouth on Black Bayou, four miles southeast of Atlanta (at 33°04' N, 94°08' W). The stream, which is intermittent in its upper and middle reaches, traverses terrain with loamy and sandy soils that support thick woods, with pines and various hardwoods predominating.
