FRENCH CREEK (UVALDE COUNTY)
FRENCH CREEK (Uvalde County). French Creek rises a half mile east of the West Nueces River and seven miles north of Cline in west central Uvalde County (at 29°22' N, 100°04' W) and runs north, then east, then south, for a total of 7½ miles before reaching its mouth on the Nueces River, two miles south of Laguna (at 29°24' N, 100°01' W). The stream traverses flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by shallow and stony clays and loams that grow deeper toward the stream's mouth. Local vegetation includes water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
