FLAG CREEK (Llano County). Flag Creek rises four miles northwest of Oxford in central Llano County (at 30°39' N, 98°44' W) and runs north for ten miles to its mouth on City Lake, on the western side of Llano (at 30°45' N, 98°41' W). The stream traverses an area of the Llano basin with terrain varying from flat, to rolling, to steep and surfaced by soils ranging from deep, fine, sandy loams to shallow and stony. Local vegetation includes open stands of live oak and mesquite.
