FLAG BRANCH (JONES COUNTY)
FLAG BRANCH (Jones County). Flag Branch rises in the BMW oilfield west of Lueders in east central Jones County (at 32°49' N, 99°42' W) and runs northeast for eight miles to its mouth on California Creek, five miles northeast of Avoca (at 32°54' N, 99°40' W). It crosses flat to gently sloping terrain surfaced by shallow silt loam that supports mesquite and grasses into flat terrain with local shallow depressions surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
