FISH CREEK (Shackelford County). Fish Creek rises eight miles northwest of Albany in north central Shackelford County (at 32°48' N, 99°24' W) and runs northwest for fourteen miles to its mouth on the Clear Fork of the Brazos River, near the Hendrick Ranch in northwest Shackelford County (at 32°54' N, 99°31' W). The creek, which is dammed in its upper reaches, traverses an area of steep slopes and benches surfaced by shallow clay loams that support juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
