ELM CREEK (MCMULLEN COUNTY)
ELM CREEK (McMullen County). Elm Creek rises ten miles northwest of Loma Alta in southern McMullen County (at 28°08'N, 98°34'W) and runs northwest for nine miles to its mouth on the Winn Lake Slue, fourteen miles southwest of Tilden (at 28°14'N, 98°39'W). It rises in low, rolling terrain, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support grasses, mesquite, and chaparral, and descends to flat terrain with locally shallow depressions, surrounded by water-tolerant hardwoods and various grasses.
