EAST PINEY CREEK. East Piney Creek, which is intermittent in its upper reaches, rises 4½ miles north of Mount Pleasant in central Titus County (at 33°14' N, 95°00' W) and runs north for seven miles to its mouth on White Oak Creek, three miles southwest of Wilkinson (at 33°18' N, 94°59' W). The stream passes through gently undulating to rolling terrain, surfaced by sandy soils along its upper reaches and loams through its middle and lower reaches. The area is heavily wooded, with pines and various hardwoods predominating.
