DAVENPORT BRANCH. Davenport Branch rises four miles northeast of Marysville in extreme north central Cooke County (at 33°49' N, 97°18' W) and runs south for 2½ miles to its mouth on North Fish Creek, three miles northeast of Marysville (at 33°47' N, 97°17' W). It traverses variable, often rolling, terrain with soils ranging from shallow and stony clay loams to shallow to deep expansive clays and clay loams. Local vegetation includes oak, juniper, chaparral, cacti, and grasses. The area has served as crop and range land.
