CANEY CREEK (NACOGDOCHES COUNTY)
CANEY CREEK (Nacogdoches County). Caney Creek rises just east of Looneyville in northwestern Nacogdoches County (at 31°46' N, 94°49' W) and runs south for 6½ miles to its mouth on Little Loco Bayou, two miles southwest of Red Flat (at 31°41' N, 94°49' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. The surrounding flat terrain has local shallow depressions and is surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
