CANEY CREEK (VAN ZANDT COUNTY)
CANEY CREEK (Van Zandt County). Caney Creek rises two miles northeast of Lawrence Springs in northeastern Van Zandt County (at 32°39' N, 95°47' W) and runs nine miles northeast to its mouth on the Sabine River, three miles northeast of Grand Saline (at 32°44' N, 95°41' W). The creek traverses flat terrain with local shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loam soils that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
