CROSSTIMBER CREEK. Crosstimber Creek rises near Oak Dale in northeastern Hopkins County (at 33°17' N, 95°32' W) and runs southeast ten miles to its mouth on White Oak Creek, four miles north of Saltillo in eastern Hopkins County (at 33°15' N, 95°21' W). The stream, intermittent in its upper reaches, traverses generally flat terrain with local shallow depressions and clay loam and sandy loam soils that support water-tolerant hardwoods, conifers, and grasses.
