CHIGGER CREEK. Chigger Creek rises four miles northwest of Alvin in north central Brazoria County (at 29°29' N, 95°20' W) and runs northeast for twelve miles, passing south of Friendswood, to its mouth on Clear Creek, at the Galveston-Harris county line (at 29°30' N, 95°10' W). The creek is channeled as it passes through Hastings oilfield. The surrounding flat terrain has local shallow depressions and is surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwood, conifers, and grasses.
