CANEY CREEK (POLK COUNTY)
CANEY CREEK (Polk County). Caney Creek, one of two Polk County creeks by that name, rises four miles west of Bold Springs in the western part of the county (at 30°48' N, 95°02' W) and runs west for 2½ miles to its mouth on Lake Livingston, three miles east of Onalaska (at 30°47' N, 95°04' W). It crosses the East Texas timberlands-low rolling hills and prairies surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support pine and hardwood forests, some mesquite, and grasses.
