BULL BRANCH (Young County). Bull Branch rises four miles north of Proffitt and eight miles northwest of Newcastle in northwestern Young County (at 33°15' N, 98°51' W) and runs southeast for about three miles before entering California Creek just north of Farm Road 926 (at 33°13' N, 98°49' W). Ranchland and oilfields dominate the creek's drainage area. The local terrain is surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support primarily water-resistant hardwoods and grasses.
