BRUSHY CREEK (MONTAGUE COUNTY)
BRUSHY CREEK (Montague County). Brushy Creek rises a mile north of Bowie in southwestern Montague County (at 33°35' N, 97°50' W) and runs southeast for twenty-two miles to its mouth on Sandy Creek, two miles west of Alvord in northern Wise County (at 33°21' N, 97°43' W). It crosses flat to rolling terrain with local escarpments and shallow depressions, surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support hardwoods, conifers, brush, and grasses.
