BEE CAVE CREEK
BEE CAVE CREEK. Bee Cave Creek rises four miles northeast of Lometa in northern Lampasas County (at 31°16' N, 98°22' W) and extends northeast for 7½ miles to its mouth on Simms Creek, 5½ miles southeast of Moline (at 31°19' N, 98°17' W). It crosses an area of the Grand Prairies characterized by steep slopes and limestone benches, which often give a stairstep appearance to the landscape along streams. Soils in the area are generally thin clay loams, and vegetation consists primarily of grasses and open stands of live oak, mesquite, and juniper.
