BEAR CREEK (BURNET COUNTY)
BEAR CREEK (Burnet County). Bear Creek rises two miles northwest of Bertram in eastern Burnet County (at 30°45' N, 98°06' W) and runs east for thirteen miles to its mouth on the North Fork of the San Gabriel River, five miles north of Liberty Hill in Williamson County (at 30°44' N, 97°55' W). The stream is intermittent in its upper reaches. It traverses an area of steep slopes and benches surfaced by shallow clay loams that support juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
