ARANSAS CREEK. Aransas Creek, also known as West Aransas Creek, rises just north of the Singleton oilfield in west central Bee County (at 28°25' N, 97°54' W) and runs southeast for eighteen miles to its mouth on the Aransas River, two miles north of Skidmore (at 28°17' N, 97°40' W). The creek traverses flat to rolling terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loam that supports water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses.
