LAGO VISTA, TX
LAGO VISTA, TEXAS. Lago Vista is on Lake Travis and Farm Road 1431, twenty miles northwest of Austin in northwestern Travis County. The area was developed in the 1960s as a lake resort; summer homes, camping facilities, and water sports were the main attractions. The community voted to incorporate in the early 1980s with a mayor-council form of city government. Lago Vista's population was reported as 2,500 in 1988 and as 2,199 in 1990. In 2000 the population grew to 4,507.
