SAGE DRAW. Sage Draw, or Sage Draw Creek, rises seven miles east of Spur in south central Dickens County (at 28°36' N, 99°21' W) and runs south for twelve miles to its mouth on Duck Creek, three miles northwest of Girard in northeast Kent County (at 28°29' N, 99°23' W). Moderately steep slopes are covered by shallow to moderately deep silt loams that support mesquite and grasses along its banks. The draw runs through the Gilpin community just north of the Dickens-Kent county line. An abundance of sage plants in the area gave the creek its name.
