ORRICK, JAMES (?-ca. 1838). James Orrick, one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred colonists, received title on July 10, 1824, to a labor of land four miles north of San Felipe on the west bank of the Brazos River in what is now Austin County. He was listed as a mail carrier in December 1835. He had died before January 5, 1838, when the land commission of Washington County issued certificates for a league and a labor of land to the heirs of James Orrick, late of Austin County.
